I am very pleased to welcome worthy readers to the
first ever UK Pakistani Business Directory.
British population of Pakistani origin contributes
significantly in the growing British economy and this trend is ever
increasing. Networking is a basic and foremost rule for success in
business, which starts by reaching out first for the fellow community
members. This is one of the reasons why we find consolidated databases of
every separate community here in the UK.
However, it is not an easy task, which is why,
despite of a persistent longing for such a platform for the Pakistani
community, we never had any such facility. The complexity of the task was
in my mind right from the beginning when I undertook this challenge, but
after Allah Almighty, I had firm confidence in my community’s potential and
thanks to Allah Almighty that it proved at the end.
It was a tough job and we had to work really hard to
collect data from all over the country. Every unexpected problem arose at
the most awkward of times but the sheer determination of our team helped us
cope with them. This booklet of around 1500 business contacts is just a
start. We are determined to progress a lot from here. The experience we had
last year will benefit us in improving the standard for next year’s
edition.
The online version of the directory has been up since
last year and I am sure that with the release of its printed counterpart,
it will become more popular and a diverse range of population will be able
to benefit from it. Those Pakistani entrepreneurs from different parts of
the world who want to develop business ventures in the UK will find this
information of real worth.
We intend to introduce many new features and
additional information in the next year’s edition. The additions will be
inspired from the feedback that we receive this year. I would, therefore,
highly appreciate any comments or suggestions for improvements from the
readers for its next edition.
In the end, I would like to thank all those who have
contributed in this project by placing their adverts, businesses who
allowed us to print their contact details in the directory, my hard working
team members, my worthy friends of the UKPCCI, and especially the office of
the commercial consulate at the embassy of Pakistan in UK for its
continuous support all the way along. I wish this initiative grows in
future and the directory becomes a communication hub and a networking
portal for Pakistani community and help them develop their businesses and
lives.
